Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid floral tributes to the great mathematician Srinivasa Iyengar Ramanujan ji at his residence on his birth anniversary today.
Sri Ramanujan was a great Indian mathe matician.
He is counted among the greatest mathematical thinkers of modern times. He did not receive any special training in mathematics, yet he made profound contributions in the areas of analysis and number theory. With his talent and dedication, he not only made wonderful inventions in the field of mathematics but also gave India incomparable glory.
Srinivasa Ramanujan was a genius since childhood. He compiled 3,884 theorems of mathematics. Most of these theorems have been proved correct. He derived many original and unconventional results on the strength of the intuitive knowledge of mathematics and the unique talent of algebraic calculations, which inspired research till date.
Ramanujan Journal has been established for the work being done in the areas of mathematics influenced by his work. Ramanujan was born on 22 December 1887 in a village called Erode in Coimbatore.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has said that “On the birth anniversary of great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan ji, rich in incomparable talent, on the occasion of National Mathematics Day, thank you! The future generations of India will always be indebted to you.”
