Sodan Singh income increased due to the sweetness of Strawberry and Papaya
By getting more income at less cost, Mr. Sodan Singh a farmer of village Borkhedi Bajafta near Bhopal, has made the unused agricultural land a means of better income. Leaving the traditional farming behind, Sodan Singh has doubled his income with the sweetness of Strawberry and Papaya in his 4 acres of unusable agricultural land.
The farmer of village Barkhedi, Mr. Sodan Singh’s father, Mr. Gorelal Kushwaha, tells that earlier he used to do farming in the traditional way.
He contacted the officials of the Agriculture Department and cultivated strawberries in less water and used drip and mulching. They say that in the first year the cost was high, in which one lakh was spent on arranging and mulching the field.

Farmer Sodan Singh says that in the first year the income of 2 to 2.5 lakhs was earned in one acre.

Strawberry crop is of 4 to 5 months and after taking strawberry crop, they take 3 to 3.5 lakh rupees per acre from the pro duction of papaya crop.
Mr. Kushwaha says that Earlier I used to be worried because the water holding capacity of the soil of my field was less, I could not get much benefit from traditional crops.
Now the worry is over. Better farming is being done by the use of minor irrigation techniques.
