World record will be made in the city of Shri Mahakaleshwar on Mahashivratri
21 lakh lamps will be lit
Shiv Jyoti Arpanam festival will be held on the holy festival of Mahashivratri in Ujjain, the city of Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar. In this, on the banks of the virtuous Salila Maa Kshipra, lamps will be lit from house to house in temples, temples and cities. A target has been set to light 21 lakh lamps on this auspicious occasion.
Giving this information, Higher Education Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said that this program is being held on the call of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
There will be participation of all sections of the society in this. 13 lakh lamps will be lit on both sides on the banks of river Kshipra. Apart from this, lamps will be lit at Mahakal Temple, Mangalnath Temple, Kaal Bhairav Temple, Garh Kalika Temple, Siddhavat Temple, Harsiddhi Temple and major public places in the city. The citizens of the city will also light 5-5 lamps at their homes.
Sankalp letters have also been filled by the citizens through Ujjain Municipal Corporation.
Minister Dr. Yadav informed that people have been connected in Shiv Jyoti Arpa nam Mahotsav through a massive outreach campaign.
More than 17 thousand volunteers have registered.
These include representatives of various voluntary organizations, students sports men, professional and social organizations representatives of religious institutions, saints of all akhadas etc. Blocks and sectors have been made for lamp lighting arrangements at Ramghat, the main venue. Volunteers have been appointed in each sector. There will also be a supervisor with them.
Guinness World Records team reached Ujjain
The Guinness World Records team has reached Ujjain to record this event as a record. Last year a record was set in Ayodhya by lighting 9.41 lakh lamps.
The festival will be aimed at zero waste
In the Shiv Jyoti Arpanam Festival, the program has been designed by targeting ‘Zero Waste‘.
Identity cards of volunteers will be recycled through QR App. After the festival, the lamps will be used for home composting, making pots, kulhads etc. The remaining oil after the program will be used in Gaushala etc. Empty oil bottles will be reused through 3-R process. Paper matchboxes will be used to light the candles. Only bio-degradable cutlery plates will be used for food and drink.
